The center screw on the back of my EZ EG fret board keeps coming loose. I've tightened it as much as I dare without stripping it but it still works loose after an hour or so of playing.
I'm considering gluing it in place. But is there a better way?
Essentially if it's loose then either 1.) the hole needs to be made smaller or have increased friction (you yould try filling it with something extremely tacky, like rosin) or 2.) the screw needs to be bigger.
The true solution would be to drip molten plastic into the hole then re-tap it with a tap and die once it's cooled!
Screw solutions
I'm sure you googled it already - but in case you didn-t I found a list of solutions to loose screws (albeit in wood) here: http://www.essortment.com/home/screwloosetigh_sapt.htm

Cool.
Molten plastic, I'm gonna try that. Thanks for the idea!
Instead of tap/die (I can never remember which is which) it I will just drill a pilot hole smaller than the screw. That should work nicely.
